Darling Harbour Australia
Sydney's favorite playground, Darling Harbor is waiting for
you! Whatever your interests, you'll find something to delight.
Darling Harbor offers excellent attractions, world-class museums,
exceptional shopping and a year round calendar of free outdoor
events.
Darling Harbor is intended to be one of Sydney's "buzz"
places, although some visitors find it lacking in character
(and greenery). A former dockside area, the small harbor has
been transformed into a major tourist site and leading convention
and exhibition centre. A monorail service runs from the Central
Business District to Darling Harbor and skirts the harbor,
making stops at points around the harbor. Until now, Darling
Harbor has been a place that has appealed more to little folk,
due to the number of children's attractions, but the advent
of the Cockle Wharf restaurant and cafe complex has added
a new dimension to Darling Harbor.
Darling Harbor is a modern leisure area on the waterfront
to the west of the city. It was developed in the 1980's from
a previous dockland region. There are plenty of shops within
the wonderful Harbourside shopping complex, with restaurants
lining the beautiful waters edge. An ideal place to laze the
day away.
